Finance and HR Assistant (80-100%)

Your mission

You’ll work closely with our Senior Finance Manager, who serves as your line manager, and our Senior HR Manager, who serves as your functional manager, to ensure that recurring processes run smoothly and that information is available where it’s needed. The role combines operational and administrative finance and HR responsibilities and offers you broad insight into the operations of a growing software company.

Finance & Accounting

You will support ongoing finance processes and increasingly take on specific tasks independently. These include, in particular:

  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as master data maintenance
  • Invoice verification and internal invoice approval process
  • Preparation of payment runs and support with accounts receivable collection
  • Posting of day-to-day transactions, as well as account and bank reconciliations
  • Support with value-added tax, tax, and year-end closing tasks
  • Preparation of reports, key performance indicators, and business analyses
  • Support with controlling, budgeting, and forecasting

Human Resources

You will support day-to-day HR operations and ensure that administrative processes are managed accurately and kept up to date. This includes, in particular:

  • Maintaining employee master data and personnel files in Personio and Abacus
  • Administering absences, vacation, working hours, and payroll-related changes
  • Preparing HR documents and confirmations
  • Providing administrative support for recruiting, from posting job openings to communicating with candidates
  • Coordinating interviews and following up on the next steps in the process
  • Maintaining existing HR templates and documentation

Cross-Functional

  • Updating existing finance and HR reports
  • Applying and understanding existing workflows and systems
  • Assisting with the further development and optimization of internal processes

Your profile

  • Completed professional education (KV) or comparable training
  • Further education as an accounting clerk assistant is required
  • Good to very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in finance and accounting, or a comparable business role
  • Additional experience in HR administration is ideal
  • Basic understanding of financial and HR processes
  • Experience with an ERP or accounting system, e.g., Abacus, SAP, Sage, or a comparable solution
  • Experience handling confidential financial, HR, and company data with care

  • A knack for numbers and a keen eye for details and discrepancies
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clear overview of multiple tasks and priorities
  • Meticulous, precise, and reliable work ethic
  • Ability to work independently after appropriate training
  • Willingness to quickly learn new processes, systems, and specialized topics
  • Clear, friendly, and professional communication
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information
  • Initiative and a willingness to actively tackle tasks
  • Motivation and potential to take on more responsibility as experience grows
